Major Credit/Debit Card Required to Rent:

To rent our motorized equipment (boat or jet ski) or a kayak/paddleboard, you must pay in full to reserve your rental. You also will be required to authorize a damage deposit “hold” of $2,500 on your credit/debit card on the day of your rental for a boat or jet ski. Please view the common questions related to the damage deposit below and on the FAQ. If you have any further questions or concerns, please call us at 425-999-1784 and we will be happy to discuss the rental payment procedure further with you.

RENTING A BOAT

To rent our boats you must be 21+ years of age with a valid driver's license and a major credit/debit card for the damage deposit. Please ensure a $2,500 credit limit or debit balance prior to your arrival for the damage hold requirement.

RENTING A PWC (JET SKI)

To rent our Waverunners (also known as jet skis or PWCs) you must be 21+ years of age with a valid driver's license and a major credit/debit card for the damage deposit. Please ensure a $2,500 credit limit or debit balance prior to your arrival for the damage hold requirement.

To drive our Waverunners you must be 18+ years of age with a 21+ year old renting and signing for the equipment.

*To ride as a passenger on a PWC (Jet Ski) you must be 5-years-old minimum.

RENTING A Kayak or Paddleboard

The renter needs to be 18+ to rent. You can kayak or paddle as long as you are old enough to navigate comfortably under your own power and have a parent/guardian with you if under age 18. We reserve the right to send you out based on our determination of your ability to be safe.

SAFETY

We follow all local, state, and federal requirements and laws and require our renters to operate any rented equipment as stipulated on the Boater License and agreed upon rental paperwork we provide. We also require approved Life Jackets to be worn on all equipment (*ages 12 and under on boats). They must be zipped and buckled at all times. A comprehensive safety and operations walkthrough is mandatory prior to your rental start.

SAFETY WALKTHROUGH

All participants must go through our safety education process. For boats, the average time for the walkthrough and operations training is 30-45 minutes.

WA State Boater's License

ALL drivers must fill out and sign a temporary WA state boaters license prior to rental (unless you have a boater education card already).

Paperwork

In addition to the temporary WA state boaters license mentioned above, you will need to have the primary renter fill out the Rental Agreement and sign prior to the rental start time. Additionally, all members of the party must sign a Liability Waiver before they will be allowed onto the equipment. Minors will need a parent/guardian signature.

We request you finish your paperwork prior to the day of your rental. You can do so online by using the link provided with your booking confirmation or by clicking here. If you forget, don’t worry…we will have on-site sign in available.

What happens if I damage equipment that I'm renting?

We expect that over the lifetime of our rental equipment, it will see some normal wear and tear. However, if you return our equipment with dings/dents/scratches/ripped upholstery/etc that wouldn't occur from normal use, we will charge your credit card whatever it costs us to have the equipment repaired. This is not an issue we expect to happen with even the slightest bit of frequency, but should the need arise, we work with some great companies that charge very fair prices for repairs. In the event of equipment damage, we're simply concerned about getting our equipment back in good repair, not gouging you on the price for those repairs.

When you rent, you agree to a damage deposit “hold” on the day of your rental (if renting a boat or a jet ski). The hold will be placed on your credit/debit card prior to the start of your rental. Typically, this hold is released upon return and confirmation of no damage…but in the case of damage occurring, the hold will be kept on your card until we confirm final repair costs and charge the balance owed. Most damage can be assessed quickly (one to two days). Some of the more severe damage payment resolutions we’ve seen can take a bit longer as we receive quotes and get direct assessment from the repair companies. This is all done in the same way a hotel places a hold on your card when renting a room).

Additionally, if the particular piece of equipment needs to be taken in for repairs, you will be charged the day rate for the damaged equipment each day until we're able to put it back in use.

It's in our best interest to get all damaged equipment back into service as soon as possible, so we will do everything in our power to avoid downtime for repairs.

Do you charge my credit card ahead of time for the damage deposit?

No. We hold your card information on file with our fully encrypted software until your rental is returned and verified as damage free. If damage occurs during your rental we will assess that on-site at the time of the return and will issue you a quote as quickly as possible. Once the actual repair is completed, any further charges or potential refunds will be run. In the event of damage, you will be responsible for the actual damage amount and any downtime charges that may apply.

Why don't you offer insurance for a small fee instead of a damage deposit?

Our insurance does not offer this option to us as renting motorized watercraft is completely different that renting a car or other on-land motorized vehicle.

While we have considered offering insurance ourselves, we have decided against it. There are multiple reasons for this, but the primary factor in making this decision is the simple fact that when insurance is offered for a nominal amount, some renters treat the equipment poorly and take on the mentality that they can use it any way they please even if that is outside of our expectations and guidelines. The damage deposit should not be a concern at all for our renters that follow the rules and respect the equipment.
